I find this herb to be very effective for long term headaches. I use it along with Feverfew tincture and the effect is as good as any over the counter pain killer

In medical trials, Butterbur has been shown to work as well as Epilepsy drugs. You must use PA free ( which this brand is) and you need 75mg, twice a day (preferably on an empty stomach as it makes you burp, otherwise) Note it's related to Ragwort, for those sensitive to that. You MUST take it continuously for 4 MONTHS in order for it to build up in your body. ( you will NOT notice any benefit til after then, so don't give up) For me, it reduced the pain and length of attacks considerably....but it did NOT stop the frequency of the attacks of Migraine ( I'm 60 & I've had since aged 5 years old!) So I started Topiramate ( Epilepsy drug ON TOP of Butterbur.I was able to be on an EXTREMELY low dose of Topiramate ( I believe because of this herb) and have 100% eliminated Migraine from my life after suffering extremely painful, weekly attacks (of 3 days long) for 50 years, So YES! I would recommend & I also only take 2 x 50mg Butterbur now I am on Topiramate. (50mg am & 50mg eve of Topiramate)

It helps me with my unexplained shortness of breath. I was able to reduce my muscle relaxant by half. The butterbur relaxes the smooth muscles of the diaphragm, so I suspect the effect here.
